Delay Analysis

There are many methods available to analyse delays to a project; the appropriate method and its application are for the expert to decide based on the particular project and issues in dispute. PAI is experienced in most forms of delay analysis. The preferred approach is some form of critical path analysis, which allows important work to be systematically differentiated from work that has some flexibility as to when it is performed in order to ascertain what delayed project completion, when and by how much.

A delay analysis consists of two major parts:
•Programming Analysis – identifying what is critical –quantifying how much delay is incurred and when it is incurred.
•Factual analysis – legal and technical inputs/outputs inform the causation analysis and then lead to a conclusion on the reasons for delay to the project.

Two parts must work together to come to an expert opinion substantiating the impact of an event.
